All India Football Federation (AIFF) is gearing up its activities as it gets prepared for the most prestigious U-17 FIFA World Cup that is to take place in 2017. The organisation is leaving no stone unturned with the development of the infrastructure to host such a sensational event. This tournament is expected to open up new getaways for Indian football as it will receive an ample international exposure. The players participating in this tournament will get to share the centre stage with some of the top clubs of the world. This will not only be a learning experience but will be an opportunity to professionalise their approach towards the game.

AIFF President Praful Patel himself is volunteering the proceedings of the tournament and has emphasised that stringent monitoring is to be done in every aspects so that the integrity of the game is maintained in every possible way. It has been recently announced that FIFA General Secretary James Valke will be landing in India in October 2014. This will be his second visit to the country as he made his first visit was in September 2012. General Secretary of AIFF, Mr. Kushal Das, has confirmed the visit of his international delegate. He added, ““Jerome will be visiting Delhi from October 14-16 next month. His visit is a very significant one as it will further strengthen AIFF”s ties with FIFA. We are eagerly waiting to meet him again.”

During his last visit Valcke had stressed on India bidding for U-17 FIFA World Cup. It was further elaborated that with the technical and the administrative aspects of FIFA 2017 U-17 World Cup taking shape, the concern is looking forward FIFA’s inputs which will pose to be a propelling force in the successful hosting of the 2017, U-17 World Cup. Praful Patel contributions in bagging this series for AIFF and for India have been greatly appreciated all over. AIFF is taking giant strides under his leadership and is redefining the course of the game in the country. To make the process even more flawless, AIFF is keeping a strict track of the various criteria pertaining to the participation in the tournament. Moreover, an Integrity Officer has been appointed who will be responsible in eliminating every scope of malpractices like match fixing or doping in the game.
