All India Football Federation (AIFF) has been compelled to cancel Indian National Team’s International Friendly match which was about to take place against Palestine on October 9, 2014. The match has been scheduled at the Kanchenjunga Stadium, Siliguri. However, the first International Friendly will be played as per its schedule on October 6.
AIFF President Praful Patel has been the propelling force behind the governing body to take up various international matches and maintaining a consistent liaison with those of the other countries. AIFF has been informed by the Palestine Football Federation that as they have already made their commitment on their availability to the Pakistan Football Federation to play another International Friendly against Pakistan in the simultaneous FIFA Window, they won’t be able to play the second International Friendly against India on October 9.
As according to the FIFA International Friendly regulations, a Country is not allowed to play two International Friendlies in a FIFA Window. These friendlies are about to take place from October 6 to October 14. Praful Patel profile as the AIFF President has helped the concern to achieve huge milestones this year. Not only so, AIFF is organising long series of grassroots programme and youth development programmes pertaining to the development of youths with international techniques for the sport.
It was in August 2014 that Palestine Football Federation had got into an agreement with AIFF confirming their availability to play back to back International Friendlies against India in October 2014. AIFF, as a result, had to turn down Malaysia Football Federation’s request to play an International Friendly on October 9, 2014.
The match on October 6 kicks-off at 5.30pm.
