Time has come when All India Football Federation (AIFF) is taking serious measures for the professionalization and popularization of Football in India. With I-League going ahead, top teams like Bengaluru FC and SC Goa are having their face off in the month of April.

AIFF President Praful Patel is the leading man in the nation who has stressed the importance of the I-League as the mainstay tournament of the country. According to Praful Patel, it is only through the I-League; Indian Team can only escalate the ladder of FIFA Ranking and AFC Ranking. The players are making their approach even more professionalized and up to the mark of international standards. 

Contributions of Praful Patel have been one of the crucial factors for the advancement of the sport in the country. It is his mission to make football the number one sports of the nation where cricket is considered to be a religion. In order to raise the bar in the FIFA Ranking, AIFF has recently appointed Stephen Constantine as the Head Coach for the Senior Men National Football Team. He has come with the strongest reputation for having the head coach of Rwandan National Football Team and escalating their FIFA Ranking from 161 to 62. He has also been the Head coach of Indian Team few years back. Presently he is leaving no stones unturned to take Indian Football to a respective position in FIFA and roll the ball to a smoother plain. 

With the Strategic Planning being launched last year, several planning have been laid down in pursuit of the progress of football. No aspects have been left out from grassroots level to women football. The same has been stressed upon during the Annual General Meeting of AIFF and also while signing the most historic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Japan Football Federation (JFF).
