Anelka unveiled as player manager for Mumbai City FC

Nicolas Anelka, one of the superb players from international football has been roped in as the marquee player manager of Mumbai FC in the upcoming edition of the ISL.  The first edition of the ISL was quite a massive success and the second edition seems to be even more interesting.

 Indian football has certainly reached a new paradigm with the introduction of a competitive tournament like the ISL with the participation of major foreign players.  Incidentally, Peter Reid was the manager for the last season but he has not been renewed. The French international has bundles of experience in his sleeve and can surely motivate the players with his formidable presence.
  
This is the second stint of the skillful striker as a player manager as previously he provided his service for one of the renowned Chinese club Shanghai Shenua.  As per the version of the Mumbai  City FC co owner Ranbeer Kapoor, the club is quite thrilled to have Nicolas Anelka in the set up again. Anelka possesses deep tactical knowledge about football and has enormous knowledge about the game. Mumbai  City FC is quite keen to be champions in the upcoming edition and wants to build a compact team for it. Anelka himself is quite happy about the overall development and wants to join the side as soon as possible.

Anelka has played for some of the premier clubs in the world like Arsenal, Chelsea, Real Madrid, Juventus and Liverpool. His performance for Chelsea in the English Premier league was quite impressive as he netted some stunning goals. Before he started to play in the ISL, Anelka also had a spell with English premier league side West Bromwich Albion.  As the President of the All India Football Federation, minister Praful Patel has played a key role in the launch of the ISL.
