The workshop has been attended by 26 ISL Club Development Officers participating in the three days event. This workshop has been proven to be highly fruitful as it aimed at training these Club’s Development Officers on Grassroots Programme. Each Hero ISL Club has a decree of running Grassroots Programme in their city / region.

Indian Super League (ISL) is officially known as Hero Indian Super League is a much hyped cash rich tournament that will be taking place in the month of October. This league will be launched under the recommendation of AIFF along with the association of IMG – Reliance and telecasting partner Star. Initially the tournament happened to be taking place in the month of September, but due to some relevant reasons from IMG – Reliance, the league has been scheduled to October.

The purpose of ISL is to make the football a top sport in India. AIFF President Praful Patel thinks that this is going to be an unstoppable force in the country and it will open new avenues for the sport internationally. The league will operate in the pattern of Indian Premier League (IPL) of cricket.

AIFF, with Praful Patel profile, has been able to deliver the most innovative concept of the sports. Unlike the major football leagues in the world, ISL will not use the promotion and relegation system. The ISL is a franchise system in which eight teams has been created in the league. Top business tycoons, Bollywood actors and world famous sports personalities are all part of this magnanimous project. The speculation is running high and experts are expecting this league to create flamboyant exposure and money-spinning session.
