India takes on Oman in important World Cup qualifying campaign

The World Cup qualifying campaign for the Indian national football team continues in full flow. With India taking on Asian superpowers Oman at Muscat, it is surely going to be one of the toughest matches of the campaign. The entire campaign has been quite tough for India under the leadership of head coach Stephen Constantine and till now even a single win just eludes the team. India has been winless in this particular tournament from the last four encounters. 

Oman stands out as one of the finest teams from Asia and has previously fared well in the World Cup qualifying campaigns.  Under the manager and head coach Paul Le Guen from France, the team consolidates some of the best players from the Asian continent.  In the last World Cup qualifying game where India took on Oman in the city of Bengaluru, the Indian contingent played quite well and just managed to lose the game on a 2-1 margin.

Under the guidance and efficient  administrative leadership of  AIFF President and minister Praful Patel, several improvements in Indian football have been made over the years. The All India  Football Federation has taken several measures to make the game as much competitive in the country as possible. The overall standard of football in the  country has improved with Indian players now even participating in foreign leagues.

Under the Praful Patel constituency, some of the best foreign coaches have also plied their trade for them Indian national team. The away match against Oman in the city of Muscat looks quite a tough proposition for the boys but all of them are quite geared up for it. The expectation level from the end of the fans is also quite high and the team needs to perform well. But Indian star midfielder Eugenesen Lyngdoh has been ruled out of the game for a double booking.
