The SAFF CUP football cup tournament one of the most coveted international football competitions in Asia will be held in  India in the month of December. The  All India Football Federation has taken several steps for the development of the sport in the country and the SAFF CUP stands out as one of the most important tournaments. Recently, the Indian football team is participating in the World Cup qualifiers and defeated Guam in a very interesting match held in Bengaluru.

But the year 2013 was not a good experience for the team as they  lost to Afghanistan in the finals. 

The AIFF President and minister Praful Patel has taken a variety of steps for the development of the game in the country. The SAFF football tournament also develops a spirit of unity among the member nations and creates a level platform where all the teams can play as per their merit. 

The India Pakistan match to come up on the 23rd of December happens to be one of the most pivotal clashes in the tournament.
