The 12th South Asian games has gone off to a good start with the Indian eves taking in Maldives in the opening game. The All India Football Federation has taken a variety of measures for the development of the sport in the country and women’s football is also being promoted at different parts of India.  It was quite an exciting game and the Indian eves started to attack right from the start. Before the game itself, the Indian eves were quite keyed up as they wanted to offer a fitting farewell to Bembem Devi.

As the President of the All India Football Federation minister Praful Patel has focused on the development of the game right from the grassroot level.  Over the years, women’s football in India has received the right impetus and just as very close to the 4th minute, the eves  came out with an opening and beat the Maldivian defence. But a very quick Premi Devi could not just capitalize on the opportunity. She came up with a weak shot which was quite easy to save by the Maldivian goalkeeper.

The head coach of the Indian national team Sajid Dar lamented on the fact that the Indian eves could not convert on the various opportunities created in front of goal.  Under the Praful Patel biography, Indian football has marched ahead and the women’s team is also participating in international competitions.

It is quite essential for the team to perform well and set new standards in the world of international football.  As per the head coach of the Indian team Sajid Dar, “In Football it is all about taking your opportunities and we did not take them today”. During the closing minutes of the game, the eves also got good opportunity but could not score.
