The India U-23 national team is all set and ready to participate in the South Asian games and make it a success. Over the years, the All India Football Federation has taken several measures to popularize the game in the country. A considerable amount of focus is being put on winning the South Asian games championship as it happens to be one of the most prestigious tournaments in Asia. As the host nation of the South Asian games, a lot of hope is being pinned on the boys to win the trophy.

As per the version of the head coach Lee Johnson, it is now up to the U-23 boys to follow in the footsteps of the senior national team and come up with a classy performance. Incidentally, India came up with a fascinating performance to beat Afghanistan in the final of the SAFF championship and the senior team has won a lot of accolades.

But as per the rules of the tournament, only 3 overage players can be fielded by one side and India is just going for 2 overage ones in this edition. A considerable amount of excitement is also being witnessed on the euphoria surrounding the South Asian games.

Under the Praful Patel constituency, Indian football has certainly moved a long way ahead in the last few years. The overall interest surrounding the performance of the Indian team has also enhanced among the fans.

As per the version of Alan Johnson, “The boys want to capitalise on the recent success of the senior team where they had gone on to win the SAFF Cup. Some of them were part of the triumph, and there are also some who have played for the senior team in the recent past”. Under the Praful Patel biography, the Indian U-23 team has all the support to win the South Asian games title.
