The All India Football Federation has taken several important initiatives for the development of the sport in the country. As one of the premier clubs from the country, Bengaluru FC is again in contention for pursuing the I- League silverware. Under the guidance of coach Ashley Westwood, the team has performed quite well over last two seasons and came up with some fascinating display of football.

Under the Praful Patel biography, Indian football has progressed quite well over the years and teams like Bengaluru FC follows a corporate structure of operations.  As per the version of coach Ashley Westwood from Bengaluru FC, “To be honest it's not important at all! What's important for us is to develop Indian football. We already have three Under-20's on the pitch. The main objective of our club is to develop Indian football. Obviously my objective is to win games as a coach but the club's objective is to develop Indian football. If we are competing in all the competitions it is fine,” he mentioned.

“It is not a distraction but a pleasure really. We play this game and then we play the Malaysian champions at home in the AFC Cup; a big club with massive finances. They have some Argentinean international players as well in their ranks so it is not a distraction.

You can never really plan too far in football, the moment you decide you want to move somewhere, you might get sacked in two weeks. Football changes in weeks, we have grown old and wise enough to understand that. I'd fancy the Premier League but that doesn't mean I will go. No, you just do your job and see where it takes you”

As the AIFF President Praful Patel has always emphasized upon the development of the sport in the country. With new entrants like Bengaluru FC, the I- league has become all the more competitive in every way.
