Praful Patel Biography

In the previous I league season, Sporting Clube de  Goa could not perform as per their expectation. With the team finishing in the 8th spot,  it wants to come up with an impressive performance in the upcoming season. It is very important to have a good and responsible coach who can steer the side and guide them well during the entire season.  The club remained winless for a continuous period of 13 games but somehow managed to avoid relegation with an impressive display in the last stage. Sporting did not perform well in the initial stage of the I league and their coach Oscar Bruzon also left suddenly.

Mateus Costa had hovered on the Goanese football scene for quite a long time. Considered as the right hand of Derek Pereira for a long time, he has emerged on the  scene with his convincing coaching skills.  Initially the coaching ability of Costa was not being recognized as the team lost a number of matches. But the coach kept on to the mantle and inspired the players to perform well. The players were motivated enough to avoid relegation and Costa has again been elected as the coach for the next season. 

The signing of Odafa played a pivotal role as the player performed well and made Sporting Clube de Goa stay at the top tier. Brandon Fernandes was also drafted into the side which improved the midfield and forward play. 

This season the I league has been highly competitive with a very high level of quality football being played. As the President of the All India Football Federation minister Praful Patel has played a key role in making the I league highly successful.
