In a recently concluded meeting held in the city of Mumbai , a variety of matters related to the development of football in the country were discussed. Called by the President of the All India Football Federation Honorary Praful Patel a road map for Indian football has been planned which certainly aims to look at a variety of plans.

Recently there has been quite an amount of controversy as two important clubs Bharat FC and Pune FC have decided to close down their operations. The representatives of the All India Football Federation has emphasized on a possible merger of the I league and the Indian Super league and bring in a one common league in the country.

Formerly, a variety of closed door discussions with the I- league club owners were held but this is the first time a hardcore meeting with all the ISL and I league club owners has been conducted.  An official proposal  to IMG Reliance has already been sent and the top brass from the Reliance Group of Industries and the ISL committee were also present in the meeting.

As per the next roadmap for Indian football is concerned, a new working committee will be formed which will cater and look after the merger of the  two leagues into one.  Previously, the  marketing committee formed by IMG Reliance, AIFF and I league had met regarding the development plan of Indian football but nothing substantial happened.

As per the President of the All India Football Federation minister Praful Patel, the first step is to improve the league in every way and then opt for bringing in both the I league and ISL clubs. It will take around two to three seasons for the final league to start off.  Under the Praful Patel biography, a variety of new  initiatives for Indian football has been taken which will take the sport a long way forward in the country.
