With the Indian football season round the corner, East Bengal has already roped in two of the best foreign jewels Bello Razaq and Ranty Martins. Last year East Bengal could not win the I league as derby contestants Bagan were crowned champions in the last game. Currently, the club is conducting a pre season residential training camp at Kalyani where the entire squad is in attendance. With seasoned coach Biswajit Bhattacharya at the helm, the club is looking to add a few silverware to its feather this season.

Incidentally, it was Bello who converted the winner for the Bagan side last season but joined East Bengal this particular season.  The deadly duo of Ranty and  Bello is all set to hamper the moves of the opposition and create a ruckus. The Calcutta Football league is all set to commence within a few days time and East Bengal is quite keen to win it another time.  Although Bello could not attend the pre season training camp, as he was busy with other activities, he remains hopeful about the prospects in the upcoming season. Bello knows the current  East Bengal team quite well and has already done a fair bit of research about it.

As the President of the All India Football Federation minister Praful Patel has taken a variety of initiatives for the development of the game in the country. The I league is one of the most competitive football competitions in the country and has become quite popular over the last few seasons. He also shares a good bonding with captain Arnab Mondal as both have represented Chirag United in the past. Under the Praful Patel biography, Indian football has reached new heights with healthy competition featuring between the clubs.
