With a loss against Iran in the previous World Cup qualifier, the Indian national team is all set to take on Turkeminestan in the road to the World Cup campaign. With the highest number of goals in the history of Indian football to its credit, captain Chhetri is quite hopeful about the upcoming game against Turkeminestan. India came up with an impressive performance against Iran and created a few goal scoring opportunities but could not open the scoring in any way.

The Indian national team is all geared to take up Turkmenistan in the next match and losing against Iran turned out to  be a low key affair for the team. As per the version of Chhetri, the team came up with an impressive display against the Iranian contingent and came up with some exciting football. But the Iranian team came up with some good goals in the crucial moments which made India lose the game. But the second half was quite eventful for the Indians as a number of crucial opportunities were created.

As the President of the All India Football Federation minister Praful Patel has taken a number of initiatives for the proper development of Indian football.  India is now competing with the best teams in Asia which will surely make the team up and ready for the various challenges ahead.

On the other hand with the U-17 World Cup coming up round the corner, the youth team is also preparing well. They came up with quite an appreciable performance against the likes of Bahrain and Lebanon in the AFC U-16 qualifiers. Under the Praful Patel biography Indian football has progressed quite well and both the national and youth level teams are quite ready to take on the various fixtures ahead.
