Asian Football Confederation (AFC) is about to begin its 5th Medical Conference which will be held in New Delhi from November 30 to December 2. This news comes after the postponement of April’s conference due to the outbreak of swine flu in India.
This conference is being held every four years and it draws a large number of participants. This medical conference has received overwhelming response and has grown from strength to strength since its inception in 1999 in Tokyo, Japan. The event also generates cutting edge information which is evidence based in the field of sports and medicine presented by experts based on research.
The pre-conference programme from November 28 – 29 will include courses relating to team physicians, sports physiotherapy, anti – doping and orthopedics. Further information will be released in due course. This kind of international programme will help India much recognition in the international arena.
Praful Patel profile as the AIFF President is one of the core factors which have propelled the development of football all across the nation. It is an achievement for All India Football Federation (AIFF) to have signed back to back Memorandum of Understandings (MoU) with Japan Football Federation and German Football Association. These MoUs will pave the way for a definite technical progress and incorporation of strong ideals in the team.
With the help of these medical conferences, AIFF will have a strategized knowledge on how to monitor the health issues of the players and always make them fit for greater challenges in the upcoming tournaments.
