ISL collaborates with PGMOL for Referees’ Workshop

As part of much prospected plan to develop football in India across varied aspects of the sport, Hero Indian Super League (ISL) have has sent an invitation a three member senior team from Professional Game Match officials Limited (PGMOL) to train All India Football Federation (AIFF) affiliated Indian match officials. IMG – Reliance & Star India, the organizers of Hero ISL, have called upon 35 AIFF Match officials including 12 referees, 13 assistant referees and 10 referee assessors for a two day Referees’ Workshop which is to be conducted by PGMOL officials in Mumbai.
The team will be led by Mike Riley, GM, FIFA Referee Committee Member and a former PGMOL Select Referee. There will be other dignitaries who will be attending the workshop like Ray Olivier, Training and Development Manager, PGMOL and an instructor on AFC Courses and Philip Dowd, PGMOL Select Referee. Praful Patel profile as the AIFF President has always encouraged the need of referee training and workshop for the wholesome development of the sport in India.
The PGMOL Group was established in 2001 in order to escalate the refereeing standards in England and is being chaired by Riley. The group manages free appointments across all the Premier League, The Football League and The FA competitions. PGMOL plays a crucial role in the development of refereeing by engaging referees across the world. The Hero ISL Referee Workshop will have both theoretical and practical sessions which will include various topics related to match officials.
