North East United FC signs Simao as marquee player

With the bandwagon of the second edition of the ISL already in full swing, it is time to sign the marquee players. North East United FC one of the franchises of the ISL has signed up Portuguese international Simao as their marquee player. Simao is one of the highly recognized names in European football and is one of the esteemed winners of the Europa League. He has played for some of the leading European clubs like Benfica and Athletico Madrid. The 35 year old footballer stands at a glittering point in his career and wants to perform at his best in the ISL.
Considered as one of the greats in Portuguese football, Simao has as illustrious career to his credit. He is one of the most highly acclaimed midfielders and possesses the ability of precise passing and shooting. The midfielder can play in both the flanks and race away with the ball in incredible pace which makes him quite dangerous for the defenders. A midfielder who also has the ability to score goals netted 22 finishes for the Portuguese national team. He commended his career with Sporting CP in Portugal and later went on to play for some of the most popular clubs.
As the President of the All India Football Federation minister Praful Patel has contributed to the development of the ISL. The first edition of the ISL was highly successful commercially with huge response from the football fans in India. Under the Praful Patel biography, the Indian national team has won a number of prestigious tournaments and the domestic tournaments have also evolved. With a key signing like Simao who has enough international exposure, the quality of football in the ISL will be certainly on a high.
